Project Cargo Transport

Projests : Road/Bridge Project

Papua New Guinea

This project involved the transportation of construction materials and equipment required for emergency repairs to the country’s longest bridge (560 meters in total length), which had been damaged in flooding that occurred in March 2004. Up to that point, only running repairs had been administered.

As the implementation of this plan would ensure a safe and stable transportation environment, significant hopes rested on the success of the project in terms of stabilizing the supply and transport of daily necessities, securing access to medical and educational facilities, and revitalizing local industry.

Central Ethiopia

We handled the transportation of materials and equipment related to repair construction for a bridge over the principle international highway that connected the capital city of Addis Ababa with the Port of Djibouti, which for Ethiopia is a stable international port to which the country has access.

As an inland country, the majority of freight and public transport is over land. The bridge over the highway was constructed some 40 years ago and had severe damage, requiring the traffic restrictions be put in place. Because there are no other points of access nearby, in the event that the bridge collapsed it would bring the flow of goods between Ethiopia and Djibouti to a halt; something that would have a dire impact on the economies and residents of both countries.

It is expected that bridge repairs will ensure smooth distribution between both countries and contribute to the overall stability and development of the region.
