Team Minus 6 Percent
The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), which was convened in 1992, adopted the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for the purpose of controlling global warming from increased in greenhouse gases. The Kyoto Protocol, which was adopted in 1997 to clear goals set forth in the convention, requires advanced economies to reduce the amount of green house gas that they produce numerically to below their respective 1990 levels over the period from 2008 to 2012. Japan is urged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 6 percent from the amount that they generated in 1990, and a national project to achieve this goal is called Team Minus 6 Percent. To further upgrade its eco-friendly administration initiative, the Keihin group joined the project in April 2007. Individuals are not very powerful when they are alone, but when they form groups, they will be much more powerful. Minor things that we can do in our daily lives will definitely lead to preventing global warming from worsening any further.

Some of the efforts that our group is making in respect to the six actions set forth in Team Minus 6 Percent are described below.
