Madagascar is made up primarily of the island of Madagascar, the fourth largest island in the world after Borneo Island.
In ancient days, the island was separated from the continent of Africa in a continent drift, and indigenous animals and plants evolved uniquely.
Indigenous species that cannot be found elsewhere interest visitors.
As the country has an abundance of unexploited natural resources, Japanese enterprises have begun business activities there successively.
In 2007, Keihin won a contact for a project to construct a new port in Madagascar.
The project was designed to develop a Port of Ehoala for exporting titanium ores in Garrison Harbor, which is located to the south of Fort Dauphin, a city in the southeast of the island.
We operated through-transit services (e.g. packing, declarations, loading and seaborne transport) for exporting from Japan 5,500 tons of construction machinery as well as related equipment and materials in January 2007 and 4,130 tons in February 2007.
The largest item that we handled then was a CAT992G wheel loader, which weighed 93 tons, and its wheels were 2.85 meters in diameters.
